Some covers are just pretty pictures. But this one? This one tells a story, before you’ve even turned the first page.

*The Alpha Flame: Discovery* is a novel about identity, survival, and secrets that refuse to stay buried. And from the moment I began working on the cover, I knew I wanted something that captured both its emotional core and its quiet menace.

Here’s how it came together, and why this girl, in this moment, tells you everything you need to know.

The Girl in the Rain

She’s not posed. She’s not smiling. She’s there. Caught in a moment between fight and flight. That’s Maggie, the central character in *The Alpha Flame*. Her eyes carry fire and fear in equal measure. Her clothes are soaked, her world uncertain. And yet she stands her ground.

The House Behind Her

The blurred Gothic structure in the background isn’t just scenery, it’s a memory. A weight. A trap. It echoes Rubery Hill Hospital in atmosphere and emotional tone, tying the story’s physical setting to the psychological landscape. Is it a place of safety or something else entirely?

The Colour Palette

Burnt orange for fury. Denim blue for grounded resilience. A greyed, rain-washed world to match the 1983 Midlands setting. The colours aren’t loud, they simmer. Like the book itself.

Typography & Tone

The serif font is classic, but the spacing gives it room to breathe. It hints at literary drama more than fast-paced thriller, and that’s exactly what this is: a slow-burning, emotionally loaded, character-driven story where the stakes are survival and the truth is buried deep.
