“The Flame We Found”, A Song Inspired by The Alpha Flame

Music has always been part of my writing. Now, for the first time, the story sings back.

“The Flame We Found”, A Song Inspired by The Alpha Flame

I’ve always written with music in the background. Sometimes it’s instrumental, sometimes it’s raw vocals that match the emotion I need to find. But with The Alpha Flame: Discovery, the music didn’t just accompany the story. It became part of it.

“The Flame We Found” is an original song I wrote while thinking about Maggie and Beth, not just what they survive, but what they find in each other. It’s about that unlikely bond. The kind built not on blood alone, but on shared pain, mutual recognition, and the fire of survival.

The music was produced by my daughter Samantha, with the help of friends and family, a creative collaboration that brought the emotional tone to life in a way I never expected. Below is the full track, and the lyrics that came straight from the heart.

Lyrics

The Flame We Found

I walked through streets that whispered lies,
Shadows danced in strangers’ eyes.
Every step a silent fight,
Searching for a spark in the night.

I learned to hide, to bite my tongue,
Counting scars since I was young.
Every dream was locked away,
Praying for a brighter day.

Two roads running through the dark,
Not knowing they were one from the start.
We found the flame the world tried to drown,
We built our light where none could be found.
Blood or not, we were always bound,
And nothing can tear us down.

You held the keys I didn’t know I’d lost,
I felt your fire through the frost.
Secrets fell, the walls gave in,
And I saw myself in your skin.

Two roads running through the dark,
Not knowing they were one from the start.
We found the flame the world tried to drown,
We built our light where none could be found.
Blood or not, we were always bound,
And nothing can tear us down.

Same heartbeat, same fire in our veins,
Two halves running through the rain.
We were sisters before we knew,
Now the world’s a war we can’t lose.

We found the flame the world tried to drown,
We built our light where none could be found.
Blood revealed what the heart had known,
Now together, we’ll take it all home.
The streets still whisper, but now they know,
Two sparks together make the brightest glow.

Why This Song Matters

Sometimes I find it easier to write a song than a scene. Melody and rhythm allow space for raw emotion, the kind prose doesn’t always allow. This song helped me distill the relationship at the core of the book. Maggie and Beth don’t always say what they mean. But they feel it. This is what it might sound like if they could.

I hope you enjoy it. And I hope, like the book, it stays with you a while.
